Mint Julep Cocktail Recipe

 Traditionally served in a glass or silver Julep cup over ice, and garnished mint. We recommend using a high quality bourbon due to this cocktail only having a single liquid.

Known as the signature drink of the Kentucky Derby, However here in Australia we will be enjoying these ahead of the Melbourne Cup, and on race day of course.

Ingredients

7.5ml Raw sugar syrup
8 Mint leaves
60ml Bourbon
 Garnish: Bitters

1 mint sprig

How to make the Mint Julep Cocktail

Pull up a glass, lightly muddle the mint and syrup.
Add the bourbon and pack tightly with crushed ice.
Stir until the cup is frosted on the outside.

Top with more crushed ice to form an ice dome and garnish with a few drops of bitters, if desired, and a mint sprig.
