UFC Superstar Conor McGregor Bids Farewell to Proper Twelve Irish Whiskey
Conor McGregor said goodbye to his whiskey business as tequila giant Jose Cuervo and the company itself, Becle, had taken over the ownership of his Proper Twelve label. On February 23rd, it was announced that the company gained 51% of shares to Eire Born Spirits, the company built by the partnership of Conor and his manager, Audie Attar. Going back to 2018, Conor McGregor started and announced his launching of Proper Twelve whiskey, before it launched in Australia ahead of St Patrick’s Day in 2019. The brand Proper Twelve was derived from Conor’s hometown Crumlin in Dublin 12, Ireland.
The merging relationship of the two companies started when Becle decided to take Proper Twelve off the ground in exchange for owning 20% of shares. And now that Becle has already acquired the 51% of EBS, it is now official that Conor McGregor no longer owns his whiskey business. There is no official announcement yet from Conor’s side and his plans after this downfall.
