Details:
Chivas Regal 21 Year Old Royal Salute has a golden syrup colour. A really complex nose, great balances of dessert notes and richer characteristics. With a wonderfully soft hint of tablet and honey, beyond there appears a great mix of apples, chocolate and ginger. After a while, it opens up to lemon zest on sponge pudding with raisins. Palate: Reasonably spicy at first with a lot of butterscotch to follow. The soft texture is reminiscent of oranges and cream. This becomes more chocolatey after a while with less spiciness. The end of the palate gives plenty of fluffy textures, very much like marshmallows and caramel. The long finish reveals some nice echoes of a freshly baked chocolate cake. Fading away, more vanilla and spiciness.
