Marie Dolin Sirop De Grenadine 700ml is a French syrup made from Grenadine fruits. The company Marie Boudet Dolin, based in Paris, has been making Grenadine syrup since 1885.
Grenadine syrup is originally from the Spanish island of Granada. The word "grenadine" comes from the French word for pomegranate, "grenade". Pomegranates were brought to Europe from the Middle East by the Moors in the 8th century.
The first recorded use of Grenadine syrup was in 1699, in a French recipe book called "Le Cuisinier Royal et Bourgeois". Marie Dolin's great-grandfather, Joseph Boudet, was the first to commercially produce Grenadine syrup in France.
Grenadine syrup is used to flavor cocktails, such as the Shirley Temple, Pink Lady, and Tequila Sunrise. It can also be used in baking and desserts. Marie Dolin Sirop De Grenadine 700ml is made with all-natural ingredients and does not contain any artificial colors or flavors.
