Jameson Irish Whiskey Black Barrel is a type of whiskey that originates from the Jameson distillery in Ireland. The Jameson brand has a long and rich history, dating all the way back to 1780 when it was first established by John Jameson. The Jameson family continued to operate the distillery for many generations, until it was eventually sold to Scottish businessman Hugh Minden in 1971.
The Jameson Black Barrel whiskey is produced using a blend of both pot still and grain whiskeys. The pot still whiskey is made from a mix of malted and unmalted barley, while the grain whiskey is made from maize. The two types of whiskey are then aged for a minimum of four years in seasoned oak barrels.
Jameson Black Barrel has a smooth and creamy taste, with notes of vanilla, toffee and spice. It is best enjoyed neat or on the rocks. You can also use it as a base for cocktails such as an Irish Coffee or a Whiskey Sour.
