George Dickel Old No. 8 is a Tennessee whisky that has been aged for 8 years. It is made from corn, rye and barley and has a light amber color. The nose is slightly sweet with notes of vanilla and honey. The taste is smooth with a slight sweetness and a long finish.
This whisky is produced in Cascade Hollow, Tennessee and is named after George A. Dickel who was the first distiller at the Cascade Hollow Distillery. The distillery uses the Lincoln County Process to make their whisky, which involves filtering the spirit through sugar maple charcoal.
Dating back to 1866, the George Dickel distillery was one of the first licensed distilleries in post-prohibition America. The Dickel name is synonymous with high quality whisky, and the Old No. 8 is no exception.
