Fortaleza Tequila is a type of tequila made in the Mexican state of Jalisco. It is produced in the town of Arandas in the highlands region. Fortaleza was founded in 2004 by Mexican entrepreneur Guillermo Sauza, who is also the owner of Casa Noble Tequila.
The Fortaleza distillery is located on a farm that has been in the Sauza family for over 150 years. Fortaleza Tequila is made using traditional methods, such as stone ovens and copper pot stills. The agave plants are grown on the farm and are harvested by hand.
Fortaleza Tequila has won numerous awards, including the Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and the Best of Show at the New York World Wine & Spirits Competition.
