Beefeater Gin is a London dry gin that was first distilled in the city of London in 1820. Beefeater remains one of the best-selling gins in the world, and its distinctive taste has been enjoyed by gin lovers for centuries. Beefeater is made with nine botanicals, including juniper, coriander, liquorice and orange peel. These botanicals are steeped in alcohol for 24 hours before being distilled. Beefeater is a dry gin, meaning it is not sweetened with sugar or other sweeteners. Beefeater is typically served neat or on the rocks, but can also be used in a variety of cocktails. The Beefeater brand is owned by Pernod Ricard. Beefeater is produced in London, England.
The Beefeater story begins in 1820, when James Burrough purchased a distillery in the Chelsea neighborhood of London. Burrough was a pharmacist by trade, and he used his knowledge of botanicals to create a gin that was both flavorful and smooth. Beefeater Gin quickly became one of the most popular gins in London, and its popularity soon spread to other parts of the world. Today, Beefeater is still made using the same recipe that James Burrough created over 200 years ago.
