Bruichladdich The Classic Laddie is a single malt whisky from Bruichladdich distillery, located on the Scottish island of Islay. Bruichladdich is one of the few remaining independent distilleries in Scotland and has been producing whisky since 1881. The Classic Laddie is Bruichladdich's flagship whisky and is made using traditional methods with Bruichladdich's unique twist.
The Bruichladdich distillery is situated on the southwestern coast of Islay, overlooking the Sound of Islay. The region has a long history of whisky production dating back to the early 1800s. Bruichladdich was founded in 1881 by John Ramsay, who also owned the neighbouring Octomore farm. The distillery was built on the site of an old corn mill, which had been in use since the 17th century. Bruichladdich means 'bank by the shore' in Gaelic.
The Classic Laddie is Bruichladdich's flagship whisky and is made using traditional methods with Bruichladdich's unique twist. The whisky is distilled using Bruichladdich's original Victorian equipment and is matured in former bourbon barrels. The Classic Laddie is a light, floral whisky with a subtle peatiness. It has a delicate nose of citrus fruits and vanilla, followed by a creamy palate with hints of honey and spice. The finish is long and smooth with a lingering sweetness.
The Bruichladdich Classic Laddie is the perfect whisky for those who enjoy a light, floral malt with a subtle peatiness. It is also an excellent choice for beginners to single malt whisky. The Bruichladdich Classic Laddie is best enjoyed neat or with a splash of water.
