This Depaz Blanc (White) Montagne Pelee is from the Martinique region. The history of Depaz dates back to 1638, when Claude de Pezenas established a sugar plantation on the slopes of Montagne Pele. The Depaz family has been producing rum on the island ever since.
The Blanc expression is made using only cane juice, and is aged for 12 months in stainless steel tanks. It has a fresh, floral nose with notes of citrus and honey. The palate is crisp and clean, with a balanced sweetness and a long, lingering finish.
Depaz is located in the Martinique region of the Lesser Antilles. The island is volcanic in origin and the soil is rich in minerals.
History: Depaz was founded in 1848 by Victorien Depaz. The distillery is named after Montagne Pelee, the active volcano that dominates the island. Depaz was one of the first rum producers to use column stills, which produce a cleaner, more neutral spirit.
Tasting notes: Depaz Blanc is a white rum that is light and clean with subtle floral and citrus notes. It can be enjoyed on its own or used in cocktails.
Whether you enjoy it neat, on the rocks or in a cocktail, this rum is sure to please.
