The Lambay Island Distillery sources its spring water from a natural well on the island. This water, along with the local barley, gives Lambay Single Malt Irish Whiskey its distinct taste.
Lambay Single Malt Irish Whiskey has a rich history dating back to 1405 when Sir Walter de Riddlesford granted permission to build Lambay Castle on Lambay Island. In 1661, Charles Lambart was appointed as the first Earl of Cavan. The Lambarts were a prominent family in Ireland and owned Lambay Island for over two centuries. The Lambay whiskey Distillery was founded in 1987 by the Lambart family.
Lambay Single Malt Irish Whiskey is produced in small batches using traditional pot stills. The Lambay Island Distillery is one of the only distilleries in Ireland that uses 100% Irish barley. This makes Lambay Single Malt Irish Whiskey a truly unique and special whiskey.
The Lambay whiskey is aged in ex-bourbon barrels for a minimum of four years. This gives Lambay Single Malt Irish Whiskey its beautiful golden color and smooth taste. Lambay Single Malt Irish Whiskey is perfect for sipping neat or on the rocks.
