Goose Island Midway Session IPA is an approachable hoppy ale, suitable for a range of palates that enjoy a hop forward style of beer.
A blend of hops including Millennium, Mount Hood, Zythos, Centennial and Mosaic give rise to an assertive aroma and palate. Pale, Munich and Carared malts provide a smooth malt backbone and balance to the assertive hop character.
A pronounced rich tropical fruit, citrus and fresh pine hop aroma follows through to the palate and is rounded out by a smooth malty backbone. As a session IPA, the bitterness is more subdued with a slight resinous pine finish and moderate length.
Recommended food match - Mexican and Thai – the hop character heightens the spices and the heat brings out the hoppy bitterness, which is balanced by the creamy elements like coconut in some Thai dishes and the avocado and sour cream in Mexican.
